Getting Better and Getting Out?

Nava has started to get some sort of sleep schedule at night. She gets a good stretch of 4-5.5 hours after the first time we put her down (starting at around 9-9:30. The problem is after that she often gets up every 2 hours and doesn't eat well when she is up so she doesn't have enough food to keep her going too much longer. We're working on it. Also getting her to sleep during the day takes a lot of energy and usually involves either the sling, bjorn or car. I am trying different things to soothe her to sleep during the day without running a marathon in our house or taking her for a drive but they work so I am happy for that.

By the way, the heat is back on in our house so we have moved home again and that is great. I think it was better for Nava when we weren't home since then there was less I could do (no internet, dishes, groceries to put away, etc) and I really focused on her and read her signs well. I'll try to be better here at home.

I have noticed that she and I both do much better when we leave the house every day. Does anyone have ideas of where to go? Today I think we might just go to Barnes and Noble and walk the aisles. Hopefully, she'll fall asleep on the way there and I can get a book and sit in the cafe for a while. I'd be happy to meet up with people. I keep kosher so I can't eat out in the restaurants but I can get drinks at Starbucks and am pretty comfortable sitting in their big chairs nursing. As I mentioned to Kim yesterday, I live downtown (by where the Post Road crosses the Saugatuck) but I am happy to drive farther (longer trip means better chance that Nava will fall asleep). Also, although I don't want to take Nava to a super crowded store, I have found that most stores are fairly empty in the middle of the day. We attempted Old Navy last week and it was practically empty. So if people are up for going to a store or two, I'd be happy to go.

Hope you are all doing well - or as well as can be expected.
